Such a big cult-following, you'd think it'd get a DVD release

Hint, hint...

It's streaming on Amazon Prime, if you have it.

The movie can't be on DVD until:

1) All of the music rights are dealt with and all of the music rights holders are paid for what they own

2) There's sufficient commercial interest for it to be on DVD (before there's a supply, there has to be a demand.) Please remember that this is a business, not a charity that 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and MGM are running, and they can't afford to be in the business of fan service simply because something's 'cult' according to somebody on the Internet.

As well, MGM Home Video used to put these lesser-known titles on DVD through the late 90's and most of the 2000's; where where the buyers for most of them? If I was a big collector of DVD's, I'd be keeping on top of major DVD releases from the major studios by being notified of when they'ed be released, or being on the Internet at certain sites to keep abreast of major developments with DVD so that I can get the movie/TV show that I want. If this hobby's so important, you make sure that you keep on top of it.

As it is, most of these DVD's were released, didn't sell, and so were discontinued due to low sales (and this also happened with Paramount and Fox's own titles, as well as those similar ones from Warner Bros.) I'm betting that the same thing would have happened to Get Crazy if MGM had released it eleven years ago, like what happened to many of these lesser-known 'cult' titles MGM had in its library (and also like Paramount, Warners, Sony and Fox had with theirs when the did the same thing.)

From what I've seen, this does have a fairly large following. I base this mainly on the fact that I've come across many reviews for it and have seen maybe one that was negative. People seem to genuinely like it, except that most people haven't heard of it, hence, cult-favorite. That being said, I do think you're right about this being a copyright issue.
