Letterbox Version on Cable

Couldn't believe it, but Showtime just premiered a letterbox print of the film this week. Thank God for TiVo! I'm sure that a DVD release can't be too far away if they went to the trouble of making a new print for television.

Good news, thanks.

I just found this on my Adelphia on Demand Free Movies. I'm going to check it out tonight, it looks great.

I couldn't believe it either. I'm with you in saying the DVD release is just around the corner. Hell, if they can release "Up The Academy," I'm sure this can't be too far behind, right?

They had better release this on DVD. There is absolutely no reason not to!

Here it is a year later and still no DVD. Thank goodness you can still tape off cable.

reply

Yes, sadly, there is. Arkush says that the original sound elements are lost.

reply

I know this is a long time after the original post - but...

There almost certainly won't be a DVD. Arkush confirms that the original elements are not available, so they'd have to do the transfer from an inferior source.

A little bit of a late response, but shouldn't you have hooked up your computer/ DVD recorder (if you've got one) to your TiVo unit and recorded it?
