Enrique finding Raimundo..?

I never understood how Enrique was able to find Raimundo at that restaurant by asking for him. Was there a missing scene that led him to that particular place?

Good question, but there was no missing scene, at least from what I saw.

I just watched El Norte again, and that scene stuck out as the very few far-fetched aspects of the story.

When Enrique is told how to act Mexican by the family friend (say "f-ck" a lot and claim to be from Oaxaca), the coyote in Tijuana isn't even mentioned by name, much less what he normally does for a living.

The only way I can excuse this minor plot hole is that Enrique put two and two together, and figured that looking for the coyote at businesses around Tijuana would give him greater success at finding him. Thing is, Enrique seemed to walk into the first restaurant in TJ and boom!, there was Raimundo.

The director could've made it more realistic, if he showed Enrique looking into other restaurants for a minute or so. Still, like I said, it's a minor flaw in an otherwise phenomenal movie.

Dear Ndugu, how are you? I am fine.

Ill assume that Enrique and Don Ramon stayed a while talking and planning and getting info for finding Raimundo. ..and maybe days passed in Tijuana and Enrique spent lots of time looking for him..

He may have asked around for him--other coyotes who knew him and still knew where his day job was. Since they lacked the kind of money their services normally cost, they wouldn't have a problem with telling them where he is, versus denying the knowledge in hopes they hire them instead.

Movies do omit some minor details for sake of time, but since the seeming hopelessness of these country folk finding their contact in chaotic Tijuana was one of the elements of their struggle depicted in the movie, you'd think they'd show how that particular problem was solved... but oh well.

"No more half-measures."
