What's the name of that song?

Towards the end of the movie when Eddie and the band are at the recording studio, they are waiting around to hear from the studio reps. There is a song playing in the back ground. What is the name of that song?

If you're referring to the song that you hear starting as the scene opens, with a close-up on the speaker, that is "Season In Hell: Fire Suite", as it appears on the Scotti Brothers soundtrack album CD.

Unfortunately, on the aforementioned soundtrack album, this piece morphs into the one we hear playing as the people walk away from the TV store at the end of the movie; "Can you see the light, can you hear the sound..."

It's a shame, really. I would have liked to have heard complete songs.

Thankfully, "Down On My Knees" was unmolested.

But sadly, Tender Years, one of the most crucial songs to the film is not on the CD version of the soundtrack. It appears on the LP and the cassette, but is, for some reason, replaced with Mocking Bird (it’s playing briefly in Doc’s studio). I’ve never been able to find a digital version of it.

Actually, the Scotti Brothers Records version of the soundtrack does include 'Tender Years'. 'Mocking Bird' is not on it, and it baffles me why it would have been included on other soundtrack releases.

More puzzling still is why there are different versions of the soundtrack album. If you can find the Scotti Brothers one, you'll get the good stuff.

Good luck!

I thought these songe were available on a John Cafferty album?Back in the early 90`s all the songs he sang in the movie were on a jukebox at a bar I hungout at.

The fact that the song is called "Fire Suite" is probably the most blatant evidence that this movie is very much based on Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys' aborted "Smile" album. He recorded a song called "Fire" for a piece he called "The Elements Suite"; the intro to the song in the movie sounds almost exactly like Brian's "Fire".
