Pump 'Jimpsies'?

Regarding the bit "Shoe-Throwing Mothers"...

Does anyone know what Eddie's talking about when he says his mother had high heeled shoes; "them pump jimpies"? To this day, I have no idea what he's talking about.

He never says the word "jimspies". He just says "them pumps". I have no idea why you think he says this.

That guy sure likes his fresh air. None of that for me. *puffs cigar* Oh yeah... *cough*

I think this comes from the "Comedian" release. I think he says "Pump Jimson's". I never knew what it was either. He DEFINITELY says it in one of the versions.

He says, "especially if they were wearing those high-heeling jimsters...those pumps?" Don't know what jimsters or jimsies mean though.

reply

Could it actually be 'gymsies' as in short for gym shoes?

reply

nah, "pumps" were a type of high heel shoes back in the 60s/70s

He does say "jimsons". It's very dated slang from the late 70's early 80's. Means "thing"(in a very broad sense) same way kids in the 90's in alot of cities used the word joint to mean "thing". (in reference to a song) "Man thats my JOINT!". it's old slang, really nothing you're missing out on by not knowing what the word meant. the joke still came across.
