Were 13 yr olds really allowed to attend this show?

I couldn't believe when Eddie was asking if there were any young kids in the audience and there was a 13 yr old. I thought they had restrictions for that kind of comedy show. Maybe it was different in the 80's?

Who knows? Maybe he just said that for the sake of comedic effect.

They were probably allowed in with their parents.

Completely off topic, but love your caption there. I do believe that is a quote from the first Turtles movie by Michelangelo. Thank you. Made my day.

Um I was 10 when I first saw this... I thought it was hilarious... We taped it as on cassette tape and listened to it again and again..I haven't seen it in ages but I do remember I waaaant some icecream ...I waaant some icecream! You want a lick? psych you can't have none!!! He was a big thing in my age group..Maybe cuz he was on SNL which was on tevee but I remember not being the only tween into him!!!

I cassette taped it too!! Listened to it ad nauseum. What's funny is, I just watched it again for the first since the 80's on Netflix and there's stuff in there I don't remember. Either I'd forgotten those routines (which would've been odd considering the aforementioned worn out tape) or HBO must've edited for time, but it was like watching new material!

People were less uptight in the 80s. Still, typically you didn't take your kid to shows like these, but it happens.
