I thought Jennifer Jason Leigh's accent as Allison Capuletti sounded authentic. Leigh was born and raised in California. Maybe she was imitating her father, the late Vic Morrow. He was from the Bronx.
It cracked me up that Allison was a virgin when she got married. Leigh has played many characters who were prostitutes and/or junkies.
I've not seen the movie yet (I'll watch for JJL), but I'm always so amazed at her accents and blending into the movie. She's my favorite actress.
That's funny that she plays a virgin in this like you said, since she allays seems to be a prostitute of some kind in her movies.
She looked pretty in this flick.
