R.I.P. Peter Yates

This is just one of many entertaining and eclectic films that Peter Yates directed, along with "Bullitt," "Mother, Jugs and Speed," "Breaking Away," "Suspect" and "The Friends of Eddie Coyle." From drama to comedy to action, Mr. Yates, who died this week, built a diverse career with nothing but high points. What a talent, what a loss.
