Wow. Cronenberg!

Is there anything this guy can't do. After his greatness of The Fly and some other films less mainstream than The Dead Zone - for him to pull off this great adaptation of great King chiller ... it's rather astounding.

reply

Sorry, I think it was SH!T.
Did you even read the book?

reply

I did, and Cronenberg’s film is superior to the book. It’s much like The Shining and The Shawshank Redemption in that way.

reply

Agreed. This is why he is one of my favorite directors.

Let's be bad guys.

Man, such raves for a mediocre movie.."astounding, greatness?\" Doesn't take much,does it.

reply

Don't be a sour goose.

Walken does a great job as Johnny. Charming and tragic at the same time and of course wild eyed when it calls for it.

The plot does a good job of showcasing how isolating his powers can be. And how conflicted he is about using them.

Seize the moment, 'cause tomorrow you might be dead.

Wonderful director. Another film I find interesting is Dead Ringers. A film that stays with you in a disturbing way. That's Cronenburg!

reply

This is most definitely one of the best adaptations of a King book in my opinion.

reply

I don't think we saw the same movie.

reply

Definitely a fantastic movie. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I have bought three different releases of it on blu-ray and will probably rebuy yet another one when 4K UHD release someday comes out...
