Reference tonight (5/11/16) on 'The Americans'

Who came here because of the reference to this movie on "The Americans" tonight? The show does a great job figuring out ways to encorporate actual events from the 1980s in a meaningful way to the show's plot and themes.

I did...I'm 37 and have never heard of this movie..I remember watching V and other television events, but never saw this one.

I'm 37, too and I actually remember this movie, as well as, some of the nightmares it caused. Lol

What's scarier is the reference later on to a false alarm that almost caused WW3 was apparently also real. I've never heard of that either.
