is this based on a previous film, a fairy tale, or a British stageplay ?

"Wishing Well" must be either a British or a German fairy tale source of origin. Is this Grimm Brothers? Does anybody know?

I found these earlier Hollywood feature movie releases that this animation take the inspirations from.

Also, a little research on the Norwegian Myths suggests that "Wishing Well" is a real myth, that in Scandinavian countries Norway-Sweden-Finland, this wishing well is created by "Odin" the old Saxon mythological God -a replacement of Greek God Zeus-.

Are there anybody that knows anything about the source of origin for "Wishing Well" and
is this originally a fairy tale or a play?

Well, there have always been stories about wishing wells.
