Can someone please explain the beginning part with Tyrone?

I am not exactly sure what is happening there, is he just fooling around with the other guys or is he really being chased off?

Tyrone was playing the Game with the Psychic Blood Brothers of DC Cab. Apparently he was the one the guys were after. He faked dropping his roller to get them to stop. It was a trick though since when they almost got him he bounced.

Although they mention The Game just twice they never actually say what the point is. I've always imagined it to be like a game of reverse tag.

I think it was all set up just to have some fun because I remember doing something like that with a buddy of mine while on active duty and we used the police vehicles while I was in the Navy to chase each other.

I know if my buddy and I were caught doing this we would have been in some major trouble and I am sure it would not have been any fun at all after that. I mean everyone does some pranks or does something to have a great time for a game at work.

Yeah I was confused too. I remember at the beginning of the movie I was thinking "Huh, I didn't know this was set in some kind of messed up post-apocalyptic future." And the after the intro, "Oh. I guess it's not."

The beginning scene did exactly what as entended. To throw you off. You knew you were about to watch a comedy, then you get the beginning scene with the dystopic setting, the cabbies with the scary masks, even the frightening music and intensity of someone(Tyrone) being chased like some kind of horror flick. Your heart is racing and they finally get him cornered then you're like "Oh my God they caught him...what are they about to do?"....Then he drops a hair roller and all of a sudden you get the music cutout and "TIME OUT FOOLS!!"...When he hollers "SUCKERS!!...come catch me!!" that completely takes the fright intensity off and brings in the humor and that's when you're like "They're playing a game!!" which was built to prank the audience. I think it worked well because when I 1st watched this scene I thought I rented the wrong movie. Lol
