Surprised to get this for $1.99 . . .

along with nine other (definitely not as good!) movies on a two-disc set. Also surprised I'd never heard of it before, and happily surprised to see its decent rating here - and so many current/fairly so comments. A shame to read of its production problems and discarded footage - "if only."

Great, if abrupt, ending!

Which disc was that? I'm assuming it wasn't a good print of the film since usually they aren't when they're in those sets. If you really like the movie I'd recommend getting the Synapse DVD or Blu-ray—it's literally like watching a different movie. So much clearer and there is bonus material including a detailed featurette about the making of the film which is really interesting.

Definitely not Synapse - you're right, it was a TERRIBLE print, like a 15th generation copy of a bad copy. So murky, I'm sure I missed many things - especially as the sound was bad, as well. I kept getting the characters confused, and I longed for subtitles! I would really like a decent re-viewing, so thanks for the suggestion!

(And a making-of feature would be amazing, given what I've learned about it since. Unless everybody is on his/her best behavior, that is.)

I think I might have the same collection. A family member got one of those cheap horror movie collections for Christmas last year and didn't want it so gave it to me. I was surprised to see Curtains on it because I'd wanted to see it for a while. I finally got around to watching it today. The quality wasn't the best but I could at least see and hear what was going on. I really enjoyed the movie, though.
