i have the book and i have yet to read it or seen the movie

absolutely read the book first. The movie could have done without much of the subplots and would have done as a great horror movie with just Donna and Tad in the car but for whatever reason they crammed the whole affair and the Camber's marital problems in it trying to be faithful to the book and it creates some confusion as to character's motivations because they can't go very deep into them, I got all that because I had read the book but I find it hard to believe that somone would have cared about the whole cereal ordeal or felt any simpathy for Donna based on their depth in the movie. I still thought it was an excellent and compelling adaptation to the book though.
