I have just bought the Canadian VSC release of Chained Heat, Red Heat and Jungle Warriors. I must say I am very disappointed to find that Chained Heat is pathetically censored. Besides the Linda Blair rape scene, missing also is the scene of the guard raping "Twinks", all the violence is cut, including close-ups of razor slashing, the hook rammed through the neck and all the aftermath shots.
Also the film is masked, particularly noticeable in the shower scene when Linda's nipples are not seen, yet fully visible on the full screen VHS.
The old VHS tape I have is uncut so I am holding onto this until someone puts out a proper uncut DVD.
Have not compared Red Heat yet to my uncut VHS.

Actually in respect of the masking, I think that first shot of Linda's nipples you aren't meant to see them, just like the boom-mike, we just got that extra bonus in the un-matted version.
Though if I were the company releasing it I'd certainly be tempted (and rightly so) to compromise the cinematographer's vision and drop the framing down for those shots facing Linda in the showers. The shots shortly after of the girl who comes up to her(not Danning)'s tatas would be too compromised by dropping.

I have a nice uncut 1983 35mm theatre print of this film and I ran it in my 35/70mm theatre yesterday. I wanted to see if the 35mm print I have would show additional nudity- so I ran the film completely unmatted- in the full frame 1:17 format. This 1:17 format is never used at theatres but some of us collectors of 35mm films will do it sometimes. It just takes a different projection lens and different projector aperture plate to do it.
While running the 1:17 format- I noticed that my 35mm print does have some hard matting in about 90% of the film. This hard matting seems to vary from 1:33 to 1:66 through out the film.
But my biggest surprise was that the shower scene in the film was shot in a completely full frame unmatted format- the shower scenes completely filled the entire 35mm film frames- from top to bottom. Alas- there was no additional nudity when I ran these shower scenes in the 1:17 format. At the very bottom of my theatre screen- I could see that Linda Blair was wearing a pair of Black panties and Sybil Danning was wearing some type of panties also.

Wow! Hold on to that print. If I ever have money to start a DVD company, I would love to put out a proper uncut version of this film!
