A rip off of William Castle's 'Homicidal'

I thought this was a good film for a low budget thriller. The actors were attractive and good actors. The dubbing voice actors were terrible. The film is a rip off of William Castle's Homicidal which was a rip off of Hithcock's Pyscho.
Incredibly A Blade in the Dark has not dated like other films, the actors, the hairsytles and fashion still look quite modern. The lead actor looked a lot like an Italian Hugh Jackman

Doubt it.

Throw Dressed to Kill (1980) and Blow Out (1981) into a blender with 1980s Italian Horror standards and you get this.

Psycho (1960) is the origins of course but given the release year and the film composer subplot I'd say Dressed to Kill and Blow Out are the obvious inspirations. The bladed weapon isn't too dissimilar to the shaving razor blade used in Dressed to Kill either.
