shock ending?

seriously people were shocked? all the reviews I read say that, I had the twist in my head from quite early but was saying to myself no thats to obvious it cant be. Its not exactly an origianl idea.

But fair play it was a great movie, I think I need to see an Italian language version because the one I watched was dubbed by the cast of sesame street. has anyone seen this in Italian? is the dialog really that stupid? could the translator speak english? His girlfriend was the most annoyingly childish charecter ive ever seen in a movie.

Didn't see it coming honestly, but was too reminded of PSYCHO to really be shocked by it.

I think the double feature with MACABRE has an Italian audio, but can't remember. I always watch it in english, and I don't mind the voices.

From the moment the killer's hand's were shown, I saw that it was a man. I can't understand how anybody can be shocked by that revelation.

I agree, I picked up pretty early on about the "twist". As soon as the killer (as a man) said something about "Linda's" cabinet and told Bruno to leave it locked I was pretty much confirmed. Still enjoyed the extended stalking sequences and effective use of the villa as primary setting.

And yes the english dialogue was TERRIBLE. The translator clearly wasn't a native speaker. I wonder if the voice actors that had to read it tried to tell them how clunky and unnatural most of it was. I wouldn't have been able to recite it as it was.

There's a brilliant release in the UK from 88 films which has both the dubbed and original Italian version with subtitles. Great transfer with interviews with the director & cinematographer. I highly recommend it.

It's a completely different experience without the awful English dub.

Violence is Italian art and Italian art is beautiful.
