Does anybody know where I can get a copy of this film with English subtitles. I first saw the film many years ago and have recently bought it on DVD but it is in Spanish with no subtitles. Help!

Criterion has a new version out--there's a boxed set of the Flamenco Trilogy:

I bought the Criterion Collection 3-pack of the Flamenco trilogy which includes Carmen. It is actually on Criterion's "Eclipse" label, a series of no-frills offerings of films on DVD.

The picture and sound are excellent. The original film was in mono sound and that's what we have here, but great fidelity.

I said no-frills - here that means non-anamorphic, although 16 x 9; no commentary; no extras at all.

English subtitles are selectable on or off. The package does come with some useful (uncredited) explanatory liner notes.
