This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and it's sad to see nobody has ever posted about this classic. I see this movie at least once a year and it never gets old. I love how the film is shown strictly through the eyes of the little boy P.S. It's heart breaking but thoroughly enjoyable.
I taped it off cable about 20 years ago and the other night dusted off the tape and watched it. It really is a good movie. I wonder what happened to Nicholas Gledhill--must be all grown up now.
This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It is so beautifully made and a fascinating story. I had the tape and then, recently, bought the DVD. I also have the book. It's a terrific book. It was hard to find because it was out of print but I managed.
Just saw it yesterday evening on a VHS video I bought for a dollar!!! I absolutely loved it! Everything is so full of meaning. The kid (Nicholas Gledhill) is incredible! I was completely forgetting he was acting sometimes and because of that just couldn't believe how talented this kid was. The acting, the scenery, the directing, I loved everything! Except probably the end... which is a bit confusing... To whom was Vanessa married? Was she a widow?Looked like... Gonna watch it again in the future...
Love this film. It has such an in-depth unfolding. Almost like a novella. The acting is superb. The Art Direction, costumes, directing just magnificent.
