Bullshot Crummond Video of Live Performance

I have the 1983 Bullshot movie, which is very good. But it pales in comparison to a black and white version that was done in the 70s. The cast was almost the same, but one actor (I can't remember his name) is missing from the 1983 cast, and he was the one that made the B&W version so brilliant. If anyone else has seen this earlier version and knows where to find a copy I would love to know.

Wow, that sounds great, if you ever find out, I would love to know :)

i REMEMBER THE LIVE VERSION FROM THE HBO CHANNEL. THE ACTOR YOU ARE THINKING OF IS MARC BLANKFIELD, WHO PLAYED NUMEROUS CHARACTERS THOUGHOUT THE SHOW. ALSO BRANDIS KEMP PLAYED THE EVIL FRAULIEN. BOTH BLANKFIELD AND KEMP WENT ON TO APPEAR IN "FRIDAYS" THE ABC RIPOFF OF SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE IN 1980.

IF YOU EVER COME ACROSS THE LIVE VERSION, IT IS 100 TIMES BETTER THAN THE MOVIE. I REALLY WISH HBO WOULD REBROADCAST SOME OF THOSE GREAT STAGE PLAYS THAT THEY FILMED IN THE 70'S AND EARLY 80'S. BULLSHOT CRUMMOND, THE GIN GAME WITH HUGH CRONYN AND JESSICA TANDY, AND BAREFOOT IN THE PARK WITH BESS ARMSTRONG AND RICHARD THOMAS, ARE 3 THAT COME TO MIND THAT WERE OUTSTANDING!!

It was on Showtime not HBO. I've been looking for a copy of that performance for years.

At one point (many years ago) I was working as a flunky on a TV show that Blankfield was a guest on. I mentioned to him how much I love Bullshot and that I wish I had a copy of the performance. He said he wished he had a copy too.

If anyone ever comes across this, please post the info here. I'd love to see it again.

The stage show was broadcast here in Australia on the ABC, probably some time early 81 or late 80 (I had just got my first video recorder, and recorded it at the time) It was not in black/white, but colour. My tape still plays (sort of after all these years (apart from the 2 bits where it wrapped about the heads), and I do admit I had hoped it would have been an extra on the DVD version, but no such luck.

Maybe contacting the ABC here? I know it's nearly 30 years since the broadcast, but who knows

Hope that helps in some way Pete.
