Does Godard have anything to say about this remake?

I'm curious, as he was (and still is) alive and making films when this remake came out. This must have gotten some serious approval or disapproval from him--I can only imagine it was either one of two extremes...

Eh, he probably never watched it, but I'm sure he enjoyed the paychecks.
