Dedication

I just saw this tonight at the Egyptian/Cinematheque for the first time since the original release. Afterwards a couple of us were talking and we recall an 'official' dedication to Natalie Wood in the credits, but in this 'only 70mm print left in existence' no dedication appears. This is also noted in IMDB. Does anyone else remember an on-screen dedication, and if so where does it appear? Is it in the VHS or Laserdisc versions?
Also, I seem to remember a shot or two of the 'stand in' for Natalie, with her back to the camera in classic Jean Harlow/Saratoga fashion. However, in tonight's print, there was no such scene; in fact, aside from a few gratuitous shots of Natalie (obviously plugged in)and some gauzy looking scenes with CW, the film tonight 'seemed' much better than my original memory of it. What gives?

I watched it on TCM in the UK last night and there definitely was a dedication to Wood. It's right at the very end of the credits and simply states 'To Natalie'.

R1 WB DVD has 'To Natalie' right at the end too.

Pretty stupid joke considering she did.

reply

I image it would seem stupid if you are extra dense.

She died by drowning by the way.

Learn to spell, *beep* "you're" NOT "your". What an idiot.

reply

It was really hypothermia that initiated her passing...and it's a stupid joke.

That joke has to be the dumbest joke that I ever heard in my entire twenty-three years of living. Not only is it stupid, but old.

I think the idiot who thought that was funny must be a "Family Guy" or some equally vulgar show.

Interesting!

"I have seen and heard things in my life that are best left UNTOLD!"

Can you tell me where the stand-in actually appears. I thought I spotted one near the beginning (when the estate agent appears), but she turns around to shout at her son revealing it is actually her.
