When Walken's character starts to view the trauma tape....

he starts to watch it and a few seconds in he takes the device off his head violently. When he looks around the room, the screen is still in 70mm mode, it has not shrunk down yet to what reality looks like. Then his wife drives up and he goes down to talk to her right before his kid goes and turns on the tape again. Now, I only sorta noticed this, at first I thought he wasn't out of the tape, that it was in his head. But someone else I saw it with said they noticed that when he first comes out of it the screen is still in 70mm mode. Can anyone confirm if the DVD is like this?

I just watched the Blu-ray version and after you see the torture scene in 70mm you get a shot of Walken in normal vision then it cuts to his wife pulling up in 70mm then it's back to normal.

I don't think it's a mistake as the Blu-ray is done differently to the DVD (DVD is in 16:9 with black bars top and bottom for immersion scenes while blu-ray is 21:9 with black bars at edges for non immersion scenes) so I figure they'd have fixed it for the release.

Maybe it's because it's seen from his point of view or he's still in the zone.

Actually, I saw a 70mm print of it, so I have no clue what they did with the DVD or bluray. I should have specified....

Also, who is the person in the chair when he views it?

Obviously someone who suffered greatly for the test.
