What is that thing in your hand!?

Karen runs into the frame and gasps
"Terry what happened!? Are you alright!?"
Looks down at Terry's machete, "what is that thing in your hand!?"

Just dying. One of the funniest moments in the movie. I actually really liked this film, I'm a fan of most slashers, but I blame this part on the director, it should have been done differently.

Also loved the part where she is running with the baby and it's little legs are just flipping about sticking out of the blanket hahaha. Then she hides it in the cupboard with a foot sticking out and the door slightly ajar - lmao!

But the gore effects in this movie were crazy and actually quite well done. I dug this film a lot, it was fun, bloody, had great unintentionally funny moments and is at least on par with some of the better known, though not high profile, slashers.

EDIT: The lines are more a supplement to the awkward staging of the scene.

I guess it could go two ways:

1. She had honestly never seen a machete before and was a sheltered suburban chick.

2. She knew what it was but referred to it as a "thing" because it was covered in blood and looked grotesque. Kind of like someone asking a person holding a knife "Why are you holding that thing?"

I like version number 1, but I can understand where you are coming from with version 2.

Though (as I edited into my post above) the awkward staging of the scene is what made it stand out more.

It was a funny quote. I'll have an extra take on it.

She could have also been in shock. You say stupid things sometimes, when under stress.
