forgotten slasher classic

An often overlooked, underrated and forgotten slice and dice picture from the sleazy subgenres absolute heyday of the 1980s. Deliciously wicked blodletting, wonderfully wooden acting, a frightfully nostalgic synth score and so much nudity, you'd think you're watching a watching a soft core Skin
flick from the 70's, all collide to make this sickening exercise in gores galore a must for genre fans.

Just watched the Arrow Video blu-ray of this movie. I'd never even heard of it before the blu-ray came out. This was unabashedly AWESOME. Some of the best makeup and kills I've ever seen in an 80s horror movie. Creative kills, certifiably maniacal killer, hilarious, creepy, unpredictable, amazing soundtrack. It was freaking awesome. Some of the other Arrow Video releases of these 80's horror movies that were kind of one-offs where the director never did another movie again weren't nearly as great as this one. The Mutilator was pretty crappy, overall, but had a couple scenes to make it worth seeing. Microwave Massacre was a worse movie than Mutilator, but a more entertaining one, as it was actually kind of clever and funny despite having the worst acting of all time and really low budget production values. Madman was pretty good, but not as good as The Burning, which tells kind of the same exact story. This one on the other hand was a real pleasant surprise!

I'd never heard of it until I saw it on the Horror Channel (UK) last night. I found it cheesy but really entertaining and the last 15-20 minutes was quite tense. One kill I particularly liked was Todd's doctor as she'd been sliced in half but her top half was still alive, lol. The ending was quite sad but at least the two remaining innocents weren't harmed.
