squealing pig

I never understood why they made The Black sound like a squealing pig when Alec lets him go to be with the herd at the end of the movie.

Horses have a lot of different vocalization they make. In this case he was probably realizing he was not going to be taken away from his harem and squealed from delight.

When I was in college, I worked at an Arabian stable and they are incredibly different from the thoroughbreds I grew up with. One major difference was the pitch of their whinny - it was much higher in pitch than other horses and could easily be mistaken for that of a squealing pig.

By comparison, I found Arabians to be smaller, smarter, and much slower to mature than thoroughbreds and a little more high-strung as well. On the other hand, they're a little easier to train and excel at difficult tasks/tricks. They also have a level of stamina that thoroughbreds don't have.

I hope this helps!
