Opening + Final scenes are a bit TOO beautiful to me

Maybe its just my own nostalgia, but this movie contains many devastatingly beautiful scenes if you've ever had a horse in your life at all. The opening scene kills me. There's nothing much to this scene unless you've been there. If you have had a horse, its a bit heavenly. Its Cass Ole, the dream horse from my childhood. I just watched this yet again. Lost count how many times I've seen this. The last scene is agony. If you have had a horse, you know exactly what I mean. The soundtrack for this movie is incredible, probably not well known, probably underrated. Love the whole desert adventure plot. Not even going to play critic with this one. It's exempt for me. I have to watch it again, right now.

I agree with you. I saw the first movie when i was like 10 years old, and fell in love with that horse, and the story. I avoided this sequel for years because i thought it would ruin the memory of the original. It turned out to be every bit as good as the first one. The desert adventure is absolutely classic, and the connection between human and horse is even more well presented. I can watch this movie a thousand times.

Funny that it's January 14,2017! Two years to the day that you wrote your post! Lol
Anyway, I absolutely agree with you on all you said. This movie, along with the first one, are the movies of my childhood. The Black was the horse of my dreams and probably one of my first loves! My old palomino pony named Dusty transformed into The Black Stallion on so many occasions! Hehe Even though he wouldn't go much faster than a really fast trot!!!
Beautiful movie! Beautiful scenery! I'm watching it right now!
