My purchase was a 1996 VHS from Front Row Entertainment that had an early photo of Nicole (probably a few years later than when she made the movie) on the front. The color wasn't bad, but the sound was so poor that I wasn't able to hear much of what was being said (at least on the player I last used). No closed caption either. But I don't think it really mattered. The quality of the movie isn't particularly worth discussing as its intended audience was geared toward BMX riders and those who hang with them.
Notwithstanding, I found Nicole's performance merit-worthy in a few scenes where she had a chance to represent her character as having some depth to it. One difficulty the movie had to overcome is that Judy (Nicole's character) is required to be friends with the two boys but not so that it would lead to anything. (Indeed, the movie is sterile in that regard -- not sure why this was a desired outcome.) There is one scene in a "foxhole" where one of the boys makes advances on her that she immediately thwarts. I couldn't understand her dialog response, but apparently it was enough to defuse the situation and allow them to remain friends. Not particularly realistic, but her performance showed something of what she can do in her later films. Indeed, many of the scenes where she had to get physical with the "villains" (where it wasn't stunted, of course) was reminiscent of her role in Dead Calm.
