Coming to DVD from New Yorker Films!

Bresson's final cinematic vision L'ARGENT will finally be released on DVD on May 24. It includes commentary by Film Comment critic Kent Jones, who wrote an excellent book on the film for the BFI Modern Classics series.

The DVD cover uses Savignac's poster art. Pity they didn't do that with LANCELOT OF THE LAKE, which had that interesting image of the knight falling off the horse.

i rented it. it's a pretty decent dvd. with some interviews and a decent commentary. i usually don't like commentaries that aren't by anyone actually involved with the making of the film but this one was alright.

It's a good DVD, especially for New Yorker Video, whose DVD's leave a lot to be desired at times. Good transfer, fascinating interviews with Bresson for French TV, decent commentary, and a trailer. Bresson is really sharp for an 82 year old man in the interviews.

Sadly, the film is out of print now.
