Melanie's experience in the house

After seeing this movie several times lately, I've wondered if there was an implication that Melanie was raped by the demon in the house. The way she was huddled in the corner and then freaked out when John attempted to touch her.

Later she says it was the worst thing she ever went through, worse than any nightmare.

I started to think the writers were implying something worse than the cold air blasting at her.

There's also that comment by Lisa about being able to have sex with a ghost.

Does anyone else think there was a subtext here?

It wasn't until I saw it a couple times that I even realized there was supposed to be more than what we saw; I couldn't figure out why she kept going on like that when all that happened was some wind blew on her, LOL.

I don't know if THAT was what they were trying to imply...seems a little too sordid for this movie. Honestly, I think maybe they just couldn't think of anything "worse than the worst nightmare" so they decided to let your imagination fill in that blank.

Yeah I think there was some invisible ghostly spunk blown on her. She was still fully clothed!
