The burning death scene (SPOILERS, obviously)...

I'm fascinated by Melanie's death scene. She's basically a charred skeleton by the time someone opens the door to her car, and yet somehow she moves. It's not like her body just falls out of the car, she definitely moves on her own for a few seconds. I never quite know what to make of that, is she still somehow alive and conscious when that happens? Immediately after, the entire car is engulfed in flames. It's horrible to think she'd be burned that badly and still be alive.

I just assumed the filmmakers did that for another jump scare/3D effect, but I never considered she could actually be alive. That does make that scene far more effective though. She would be in such tremendous, unimaginable pain.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

If she was still alive at that point, she probably wouldn't have had any nerves due to being burnt so badly. She was basically a skeleton.
