How to get the real deal in the US

I think the original version with English subtitles but no dubbing (a menu choice) can be ordered for not too much money via amazon.co.uk. Audiophiles do this all the time to get import versions of music, for reasons of lower cost or reasons of availability. Some report using their usual amazon.com accounts; some say you need to register anew at the co.uk site. That site does currency conversions for you, apparently.

I just went to my local Chinatown and found a gift/bazaar store which sells DVDs. No butchered Miramax or whatever versions there. This should be possible in any city with a Chinatown, and the movie is pretty much a standard in that milieu. And the versions in the store I go to have English subtitles, of course.
