Cuts by BBFC

I just got an old copy on VHS only to find it says 'Edited To Conform With BBFC Standards' - does anyone know what cuts the spoilsports have made?

Hi,
I'm a big fan of the film 2019. I first saw it way back at the begining of 1992 at a relatives house. Then about 8 months later I bought a copy of it from a pound shop, and yes you're right on the cover of the VHS version it did say that some cuts were made.
According to the BBFC website 7 seconds were cut from the film for the UK release.
A couple of years ago the film was released on DVD in the UK, and as with many films released on DVD, the scenes which were edited on the old VHS version were included. You can probably get a copy of the DVD on Ebay for £4.
There wasn't much cut out anyway, just a few bits of gore, and I really don't know why they weren't left in, in the VHS version as it was just the usual kind of 18 rated violence. For example after the car chase at the begining, when Parsifal kicks the bad guy onto a spike, in the uncut version we see a front view of the spike sticking out of him, which was edited from the VHS version.
And of couse the scene where the japanese guy gets shot in the head was kept in the DVD, I always knew something was edited in this bit (the jap guy's head)
because in the VHS version the picture jumps slightly at this bit (usually a sign of a cut)
Hope I've helped with your query
