Why Mark Gregory walks funny...
If you ever thought Mark Gregory walked like he had a wide stick shoved up his arse, you wouldn't be too far off the mark. Only Da Hammer could tell it like this:
"Mark Gregory was uhh...he made no footprints in the snow when he walked. It took 'em a long long time to teach Mark how to walk. And if you watch him closely when he makes these long walks, he walks very stiff and straight up to keep from makin' that swishiness that he had, 'cause Castellari met 'im on the street. He was not an actor, he was a guy...he was a bodybuilder. He saw him in the gym and he says "C'mon, I'm gonna make you an actor," and he had a great physique but he made no footprints in the snow and back in '85 it wasn't cool then, 'cause everybody wasn't outta the closet at that time. But everybody is out now, so it's cool. But, in '85, it wasn't as cool. It was a LOT of work to get Mark to stop that swishy strut."
(from Fred Williamson's interview on the BRONX WARRIORS DVD from Shriek Show)
Castellari even has a giggle remembering the nasty things the real-life Hell's Angels said to Gregory during his walk from the body of his impaled pal to Fred Williamson's car early in the film, none of it recorded since the soundtrack was all put in later. Fortunately, he says, Gregory had no idea what they were saying about him!
Kinda puts into question that story in Gregory's IMDB bio about his "fiance" submitting his photo to Fulvia film.
