Anime Ending (Spoilers)

As Stacey chased the chick down the street at the end, followed by the helicopter, I couldn't help get a cheesy 80s anime vibe off of it. Then the finale, ending with the posed shot of the cars and the hovering heli - it just seemed like something out of Bubblegum Crisis. Was Bronson big in Japan in the 80s to inspire some of those animators?
