The Killer? Too Much Sexy ...

...to be believable.
C'mon guys, I think Eugene Davis was really too much handsome and his carachter was even too much self confident to play the role of a killer with sexual frustrations. I mean, he wasn't limping or suffering from others physical troubles, he had also a spanish and charming accent! What else? I suppose every woman could fall in love or be intrigued by a man like this at last. He couldn't be the man on the rebound ...

I was thinking that SAME thing when reading the original post.

Yeah, funny thing is if he wasn't so sleazy, he probably wouldn't have much of a problem picking up women. Hell even Bronson's daughter seemed like she might have some interest when he first called her. Before the call turned obscene, that is.

I think this is why the movie works. It makes it even more realistic. (There are some things that by today's standards are silly, like the "pump machine"; today it is cool, former days it was "sick").

I agree. He seems like the kind of guy who would get obscene phone calls from women (and not a few men). "Is Pedro there?"

He was really hot. Him being nude all the time made this movie :P

I find it a tad disturbing that there are more deleted than active posts in this thread...

I kept thinking of him as a poorer, younger man's version of Patrick Bates (Christopher Bale) from American Psycho.

Warren Stacy reminded me a lot of Ted Bundy, who was a handsome guy, yet still killed women because he was a stone psycho.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

Well, I USED to say that he was too handsome and in great shape to be the guy no woman wanted.

But, then recently, there was that young guy in California, who went on that killing spree. He was a rich kid, whose parents work in the film industry, he went to an expensive college, drove a brand-new BMW, had plenty of money, and was actually a very good looking kid. But, his motives for the killing spree were because he was a 22 year old virgin that no girls liked. I said then that if he couldn't get laid and no girls liked him, or at least PRETENDED to like him (for the car, the money, whatever), then it must be something about him in his personality that was very off-putting and caused girls to be uneasy around him.

This is the case with this film character. It is even specifically referenced. Bronson reads from a dead girl's diary, and she describes the guy as, "good looking, but what a creep"...
