Kissing

I just watched this on YouTube over the weekend; first time since it was on TV in the 80's. I LOVED it back then, of course I was a young teenager. But to get to my point, why did they ALL kiss so strangely? Emma, or perhaps Jenny Seagrove, always looked like she was trying way too hard to be "turned on." I was uncomfortable every time she was to kiss someone romantically. Is it just that acting was really bad in the 80's? Then I thought maybe she is acting, since she was supposed to be a virgin w/Edwin. But all of the other men she kissed was the same as the first one.

Lol I love this series but I see your point. It was even worse in the sequel. Jenny Seagrove was really good as Emma and as Paula but her love scenes did feel awkward I agree. She did have a really bad way of acting out the death of her father too (as Paula in Hold the Dream), when Shane broke the news. That was a truly dreadful scene. She handled playing the very stoic Emma far better I felt.
