Raise your hand if you loved Liam Neeson in this role!

This is my favorite Liam role! As delightful and loving "Blackie" -- Liam will always be Blackie to me, even though this was a million years ago and he was so very very young. He was riveting, and so very appealing.

This was only his second major screen role.

He was definitely a stand out in this film. He's been Blackie for me ever since!

I always remember him for this role, loved him in it. Haven't seen this mini-series in ages.

Yes, me too!

I'll raise two hands. Liam is excellent in this. Blackie is loyal, kind, gentle and very sexy. Emma was a fool to overlook him for all these years(even if he was a great friend to her).

Maddy, I have to agree with your sentiment here my friend.

I so wanted Blackie and Emma to connect early on but that said, maybe Emma's plan for world domination may not have come to fruition LOL! Blackie may have had a very calming influence upon her and she may not have achieved her empire. In a way, her loveless marriage to Joe is what kept her business acumen razor sharp. Blackie may have been a very good husband for her but would she have been happy to settle down into a happier married life? Would Blackie have mellowed her passionate vendetta against the Fairleys? If so then the story would have taken a different path.

Thanks highpriestess32.

Yes you're correct if she and Blackie had become a couple early on I too doubt the empire would have been created. I bet she would have had the little shop but it might not have grown beyond that. You're right the story would have been very different I'm sure if she married Blackie.

I love them as friends and I love how loyal he was to her and was always there. I just want to scream at her though to open her eyes to what she has right in front of her. Blackie is a good man who loves her more than anything else in the world and will always be there for her.

How lovely to hear from you, Maddy. Thank you for I do like your posts!

I agree once again in that Blackie was a stable injection in her life - always having her back. He only made one early error - he told Laura and David that "Money is what drives her" when in fact it was not success nor money she sought in the film version, it was retaliation, at that point x

Thanks, that's nice to hear. I like your posts too.

Yes she certainly wasn't thinking about money or fame she wanted revenge.

highpriestess32+Wonka2009 this is not a film/movie it is a mini series- hence why it is called a mini series and also as a film is never longer than 3 hours- and this lasts for 5 hours---- but have loved this mini series since I was a kid good times

btw angelofvic you said:This was only his second major screen role. That's not true he was also well known before this well known mini series and was in other things like:The Bounty
,Krull ,Excalibur etc
