They let the studios know how many people want to see the shows they own released on DVD, and how they want them (season sets, best of, or individual episodes).

If Quark can get released on DVD, and soon this August (10 Aug 2010) Max Headroom there is hope for Wizards & Warriors. All 3 of these low-budget cult TV shows are much better entertainment than some of the junk that has been released on DVD in recent years right after their seasons ended.

Max Headroom is much, much more well-known and was something of a success when it was originally on, beyond a tiny little cult. I'd say Quark is probably better know as well. This show is on the level of The Fantastic Journey from a few years earlier - unsuccessful at the time, ignored by critics, and only remembered by a very small number of die-hard genre addicts. Only people who already liked fantasy were likely to appreciate the satire here.

I still remember the show fondly and there are very few programs I'd be more interested in seeing show up on DVD, but I just can't imagine this one getting released I'm afraid. I have never run into a single person in real life who remembers it, even people who like me were the right age at the time.

What ever happened to the time when directors realized that taking risks is a bad thing?

I remember this show. I was 12 when it was on and I have never forgotten this show nor the disappointment I felt when it disappeared from television. Being so young I just couldn't understand how it could be canceled.
