Referenced in Ready Player One

I'm in the middle of Ready Player One, the book by the guy who wrote FanBoys, the movie about some guys doing a road trip so a friend with cancer can see the first Star Wars prequel (wow. cancer and the phantom menace. bummer.). The book is full of 80s pop culture references (like Family Guy) and it references Whiz Kids about halfway through. Didn't even know it was a series. Saw the Simon & Simon episode but thought that was just a failed attempt at a spinoff.
