Wired in 1983?

Someone mentioned in their review having a lot of computer magazines from "that era" (the era of the Whiz Kids"), and made a reference to also having Wired magazine among those.

Otherwise it's all fine and good, but according to Wikipedia, Wired magazine was created in 1993, a full ten years later.

So is the reviewer lying/crazy or did Wired exist in 1983 in some form?
