Yeah, and it overemphasizes the idea that "looks different from us = EVIL," which is a very backwards way of thinking.

I have no problem with them disguising themselves, if only to reduce the TV budget for prosthetics on a regular basis, but the problem I realised with the disguise is that the shapes of the reptilian heads and faces is totally different to that of humans, which hurts the plausibility in the first place. I mean, the lower mouth area sticks out more than a human mouth, and there's the projecting ridges on top of the head as well.

As much as the TV series proper sucked, I liked the improvement in the prosthetics, and that they had the Visitor actors wear them more often, so that some Visitors didn't bother with the human disguises at all, really helped to sell the alienness. But of course, the producers would insist upon the main female Visitor characters wear the disguises so as to retain the sex appeal of Jane Badler and the others.
