I must say...

I don't think "Superted" is a particularly good cartoon. I used to watch it as a child, and when I was given a DVD of it recently I was very pleased at the prospect of watching something I hadn't seen for over ten years. But when I did watch it I found it to be a pretty low-quality programme. The dialogue and storylines are poor and unchallenging. And, although the three baddies always get banged up at the end, they're going scot-free by the next episode! OK, so it's a kid's cartoon, I didn't notice how bad it was when I was little and I clearly am very bored to be complaining about it now. But children's programmes needn't be bad. Anyway, just thought I'd share my disappointment.

Of course they've brought forth juniper berries, they're juniper bushes!

It happens. I've revisited numerous cartoons I loved as a kid after a long time, and was disappointed with them second time around. It's funny how things go like that, isn't it?

reply

It's funny though, because I revisited superted and I found it even better than back when I watched it at the age of 4 or 5. I think the animation is beautiful, and that theme tune is legendary!!!!! I think it's a shame that children's programmes now are so rubbish, I think programmes like superted show just how painstakingly they were once produced. Also can I just share my hatred of programmes featuring people dressed in creepy costumes- tellytubbies and tweenies to name a few! I hated stuff like that as a child and still do.

Oh Aye - if I was a kid today I would definitely NOT watch the Tweenies - apart from being creepy, I've found from watching it with my nephew that it is also thoroughly unpleasant and does not even hit the heights of being the good edu-tainment show it aspires to be. Dire... Give me Superted anyday! :-)

I just bought the SuperTed boxset for only £5 from Morrisons becuase i loved it as a kid, and i was cracking up at some of the jokes. Especially Skeleton, the funniest villain ever. There is no way this show is bad, it can as i found out appeal to adults and kids alike in different ways. And yes the theme tune rules.

Skeleton, the funniest villain ever
I second that.
