I agree, who could forget that kiss in Night Crawler...WOW! They just burnt the screen in that show.I've yet to see such amazing chemistry between two lead actors

They did have great chemistry. I like NCIS and was thinking "they need to have Lee and Amanda pop up"(since it is set in D.C.). The next thing I knew, Bruce was on the show; but he was portraying a Navy Admiral? It would have been cool to see them together again in present day.

At least as much chemistry was in "The Winds of War" between Ali MacGraw and Jan-Michael Vincent!

Arlington, then you still have not watched the TV mini series "The Winds of War"...the chemistry between Ali McGraw and Jan-Michael Vincent was the strongest I've ever seen on the big (or the small) screen. Much better than "Love Story".

I saw SMK many years ago now and Lee and Amanda were my very first shipper couple. They were amazing together and still have the same impact on me now as I rewatch them. They are still one of the best shipper couples EVER on tv and you don't see many so - called shipper couples connect the way these two did. Lee and Amanda could bicker better than anybody, but, they had such affection and passion aswell it's extraordinary.

reply

What exactly are shipper couples?

reply

Shipper couples are a nickname that fans give to a potential romantic couple on a tv series or film. Shipper is short for relationshipper. The first I heard of it was many years ago for the X Files's Mulder and Scully. It's attached to nearly every couple / non couple around now

What is The Winds of War?. I've never heard of it. Is it any good?

reply

dblackman, "The Winds of War" is a WW II 7 parts TV mini series from the mid 1980's with Robert Mitchum playing a naval attaché in Nazi Berlin. The continuation is called "War and Remembrance", but without Ali McGraw and Jan-Michael Vincent it never reached the potential of the first 7 parts.
The 7th part ends with Pearl Harbor.

I can't say they were my first ship, but they were pretty close to first. And they are the strongest--OTP all the way! :)
