'Most of the stars went onto SNL'? No they didn't

Somebody said in the review of this series that "Most of the stars went onto SNL after SCTV" which is a very inaccurate statement.

Only Martin Short had any real success on SNL after leaving SCTV. Tony Rosato and Robin Duke went and spent a season on SNL after basically filling in for Catherine O'Hara and John Candy on SCTV but I seriously doubt many people even remember them on either show.

Dave Thomas, Rick Moranis and John Candy all GUEST-HOSTED SNL at various points in their careers but never appeared in any of the casts. In fact several of the cast members did audition for SNL during the late 70s between the CBC series and the Network 90 series and were rejected by Lorne Michaels.

Robin Duke actually appeared in all but one of Dick Ebersol's SNL seasons. She also appeared on the last episode of the aborted 1980-81 season, most likely as a replacement for the fired Ann Risley.

Catherine O'Hara was hired for SNL in 1981, but quit before appearing on air, after being intimidated by Michael O'Donoghue's backstage insanity. Andrea Martin was pursued for the 1984-85 season, but Pamela Stephenson was chosen instead. (Andrea's only SNL appearance then seems to be in a sketch on the bizarre early 90's "Toonces and Friends" special.)

Joe Flaherty auditioned for SNL a bunch of times and was rejected each time.
