Was anyone confused as a kid?

Star Trek: TNG began a year after I was born. My parents watched it regularly. It wasn't until I started elementary school that I heard of Reading Rainbow. We used to watch it during our weekly Library Day.

Was anybody, like me, freaked out to see LeVar without his visor?

reply

Aw no way man!
Before I knew Levar as the STAR TREK guy with the visor, I knew him as nothing but the guy from READING RAINBOW.
I remember seeing this after SESAME STREET or THE ELECTRIC COMPANY back when it was new.
Over the years, it never changed a bit (unlike SESAME STREET).
I love READING RAINBOW. It is a big fat crying shame that it got canceled and off the air. This show taught us WHY we should read.

haha same, I remember watching Star Trek:TNG with my dad and being like "that's the guy from Reading Rainbow...sometimes I would put my headband around my eyes and pretend I was Geordi though...oh to be 5 again...

"This scar is a fleck on my porcelain skin, tried to reach deep but you couldn't get in..."

He was on Reading Rainbow 4 years before Star Trek. Maybe younger viewers thought he lost his sight, lol.
