was there nudity...

in the earlier episodes??

I'm pretty sure that I can remember seeing episodes that showed womens' breasts, but as more time went by, the show aired in the afternoons and no longer had any nudity at all.

Is this the case or is my memory out of whack??

Overall, they did some cute stuff. This show probably invented some of the political humor and video manipulation that other shows went on to use.

I remember seeing a couple episodes in 88 or 89 that had some (the revival). It was very funny because it was so unexpected. I don't believe those scenes aired in the afternoon.

I don't believe NNTN had any nudity. Another comedy show on Showtime, Bizarre had upper nudity every week.

I don't remember any nudity, but the first few episodes featured some R-rated-type humor, but it was eventually toned down a bit (though still plenty funny). Since nudity wasn't quite as shocking in mainstream entertainment in 1983 as it is now, there may have been a couple shots here and there early on.

Speaking of Showtime, I remember seeing a woman's breasts during the opening sequence to "Full Frontal Comedy."

But if Not Necessarily The News was still on HBO today, it would get a TV-PG or TV-14 rating depending on content.

I was just on youtube and it took all of two clicks to find this video. Pretty sure you can see the guy's weiner at the beginning and absolutely sure about the breasts. It's from 1985.

Why post a link to a video that has been deleted or removed?

That was 4 years ago. That is how the internet works.

I recall one episode where a girl ran nude across a football field. You could kinda see her bush even though it was cheap video and from a distance.

And Showtimes Full Frontal Comedy was full of nudity including full frontal, but it was mostly in shadow.

Yes. I am almost positive that this show had nudity. It was on HBO. In any guy's teen yrs in the 80s, we searched for nudity like it was a pot of gold.

I'll have to disagree with you on this. NNTN was on HBO, and was often shown in the morning and afternoon. Not that they didn't show movies with nudity back in those days, but shows like "Bizarre" were shown at night.

I loved NNTN. I was 12 - 13 when it first came out, and I had started really getting in to what was going on in the world besides just sports and pop-culture. It was really cool to see them goofing on some of the stuff & people I was learning about.

I watched every episode in the first few years it was on, often with an older sibling or my parents, and I know that if there would have been actual nudity, they wouldn't have let me watch it.

One of my favorite bits was the one where they were showing how they made de-caf soda. Three of them were standing around a 55 gallon drum of "soda" and had these huge straws which they were using to suck the caffeine out of the soda. The news caster was trying to interview them, and all three of them were edgy and confrontational due to having sucked up so much caffeine.

Finally, someone else walked up with a cart and announced, "Coffee break!" To which the people sucking in the caffeine yelled at her and chased her off. 
