'Jane Eyre' review I wrote for my blog

Here's a "Jane Eyre" piece I wrote for my blog, reviewing the book and various different film versions I've seen over the years... including this one, and my thoughts about the upcoming 2011 version, and Juliet Stevenson's work on an audibook version:

This person deleted their WordPress site. But it's still on the Internet Archive. I haven't read it yet, but here's the link for it.

Well, I read it and I can't recommend it. Safe to sum up the author's opinion on this version of Jane Eyre with this quote of incorrectness:

The 80s BBC mini-series plods through EVERY SINGLE SCENE of the book, with the actors dutifully reciting EVERY SINGLE WORD of dialogue, and many of Jane’s internal monologues are duplicated WORD FOR WORD in voice over. In theory, this version should be a godsend for fans of the book, but in practice that’s not the case. Each scene is directed with less visual flair than your average daytime soap opera, at times the camera is so static you’d think that the director approached this assignment by turning up on set and then saying to the actors:

I only wish that they had done every single scene of the book. I really missed the scenes from Jane and Rochester's engagement.
