The Walking Dummy Short

Does anyone actually know the name of this short or what it was taken from? I was to young and traumatized by it to actually remember the name however every last detail of the story is stored in my mind any comments would be great Thanks!

Did this have anything to do with a woman who bought a dummy in a suit (maybe with a bowtie) and it ran around her house looking for a knife? She puts the dummy on a chair or something then goes to the bathroom. Then the woman is in the shower and the dummy enters the bathroom with the knife. If this is what you are talking about, I don't know what the name of this was, but I was very young when I saw it and it was on the channel that "The Hitchhiker" and/or "Tales from the Darkside" came on. Also, I remember that the dummy looked something like Pee-Wee Herman because of its suit-lol. Hope this helps a little.

i remember an episode of a tv series (not sure what show it was, but it had horror stories)
and the dummy was sorta tall, not small and little like Chucky.
and had a suit and bow tie. and would come alive and kill.

and i remember there was something to it, where a guy would just blank out and the dummy would then come to life.

not sure if thats the one you guys are talking about. cause i was a kid when this was on. all i remember is that during the ending credits. the dummy is sitting in a chair, or leaning up against something. and this creepy music plays.

Hi- that sounds about right, but I don't remember the dummy going after anyone except for the woman in her shower. It was really creepy though- I remember being quite scared. And the doll did sit in a chair. I could be mixing together two different movies in my mind though. :)

Yep, I still remember this. I was about 12 yrs old and my friend and I were watching Sci-Fi waiting for Vampire Hunter D to come on, I believe it was called the dummy. There is a similar one from USA's saturday nightmares about a man in a mannequin store and they start talking to him.

well i remember that near the end there was a scene that came after a love scene. and the guy goes to take a shower or something. and the dummy is just there either in the chair or leaning against something. and the girl comes out of the room and is in the hallway. and the guy just like blanks out or something. hes on the floor i think. and the dummy is alive and attacks the girl. and they are both on the floor and struggling.

something to that effect. this was ages ago, and i only saw it one time. ive been wanting to see it ever since, cause i mean it was spooky. gave me chills after i saw the ending credits. cause the music was really eerie and the dummy is just leaning there with this dead stare.

sounds like one of two things

a twilight zone ep witch was a dummey whom came to life in a sence

and a movie called childs play with the dummey whom comes to life after a killer is killed

having watched several seasons of The Hitchhiker I dont recall that being the main plot

well it wasnt black and white thats for sure. and it was more modern than old.

and i have all the Child's Play, so its definately not Chucky.

some people tell me it was like a 10 minute short rather than a tv episode. but neither are sure if we are talking about the same thing.

it was a dummy wearing a suit though. but its not like a dummy that u put on ur hand. i mean this was like a tall average height looking dummy with a creepy face.

near the end the guy is fighting the dummy and they are both on the floor struggling and they both die in the end. and the girlfriend is just there all in shock by the whole thing.
and i believe there was a connection between the guy and the dummy. where the guy just blacks out or something and the dummy comes to life. only the dummy isnt nice.

not sure if it was the Hitchhiker or not. but its not in Tales from the Crypt.
and i cant think of the name of that one show that had a wierd intro. which to me at the time looked like a kids tv show. cause it had wierd claymation type characters in the opening credits sequence. but really it was horror stories. i think this dummy episode is from that. but i cant remember the name at all.

i have Tales from the Crypt seasons 1 - 5 and its not on any of those. dont think it was from there though.

i only have the Hitchhiker episodes that are on the 3 DVD sets that were released. not sure how to get ahold of the complete collection of episodes.

believe me it is NOT Magic. this was from a tv series i believe, that had a half hour time slot. somewhere from the late 80s to early 90s. Magic is a feature length film from like the 70s.

ive now seen all the episodes of The Hitchhiker and it wasnt in any of those episodes.

im thinking its from the Monsters anthology series

but the one im thinking of, i remember the intro to the show having claymation and animation.had like a family of aliens gathered at the dinner table ready to eat body parts or something in the opening sequence. then followed the episode that range from all kinds of horror type stuff.

thing is i remember this dummy or one very similar was on another late night series. that had like college kids and this dummy. though im not sure if it was a show that was a comedy or some trippy horror series. but the dummy was still creepy rather than something youd find comedic.

Sounds like an episode of Friday the 13th: The Series. Season 2 episode called "Read My Lips."

reply

This kind of sounds like the Tales from the Crypt episode strung along.

Finally got a good copy of that episode and it looks to be the one. Never would have guessed it was Friday the 13th. The end credits seems to be what I remember from way back when. If it isn't, it sure is the closest thing to what I had seen back in the 80s.
