What were the ratings like?

Just wondering of the fans who check the board regularly, how did this show do originally in the ratings during the 80's?

I've been enjoying it again on GET TV and still find it quite fun.

Thank you for the information, such a shame the ratings fell so much after only three seasons. I have always liked the series and felt its a shame it only lasted three seasons and could have lasted longer. Oh well at least there's enough to still enjoy.

It's not really rare that some popular & beloved TV shows weren't big ratings winners.

Leave It To Beaver, considered by many one of the greatest sitcoms ever, never got into the Top 20.

The Twilight Zone, considered the greatest sci-fi TV show ever, wasn't a ratings success either and was frequently in danger of cancellation.

MASH almost got cancelled its first season, due to low ratings.

St. Elsewhere never achieved high ratings, yet it had critical acclaim for its strong writing.

The Guardian, which ran in the early 2000s, a drama starring Simon Baker, was also a ratings loser but critically acclaimed drama.

Gilligan's Island, Star Trek & some other shows weren't highly rated, yet received bigger viewership in 1970s reruns.
